Cystic Fibrosis Queensland
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common life threatening genetic condition in Australia – and there is no cure. CF is a degenerative condition that affects many of the body’s systems, including the lungs and digestion. People with CF live through daily physiotherapy and medications, among other treatments, just to survive.
At Cystic Fibrosis Queensland (CFQ) our philosophy is a simple promise – “For the Love of Life”. Faced with a life threatening chronic illness, children and adults living with CF and their families fight daily for life against many challenges. We believe every person diagnosed with CF and their families deserve the best possible quality of life, and we are committed to providing the support to make that possible.
Last year CFQ provided services to over 800 Queenslanders living with this condition and their families by providing emotional support through counseling, sibling activity days and respite programs. Practical support included provision of respiratory equipment, physical activity subsidies, hospital transfers, physiotherapy, accommodation and special support whilst in hospital.
CFQ receives minimal on-going funding from government, meaning that the community’s help is vital to raise the funds we need to provide essential support and services

Rocksberg / Moorina Rural Fire Brigade
The Rocksberg/Moorina Rural Fire Brigade is a volunteer organisation that provides emergency services for the residents of Rocksberg, Moorina and Upper Caboolture.
The Brigade has been formed for over 13 years and responds to bushfires, house fires and car accidents in our area and the surrounding district. We have over 30 firefighters and personnel and the brigade has sent firefighters to assist at the Canberra, Sydney and other interstate fires. At Farm Fantastic we provide an onsite response to any emergency such as fires or accidents and we assist first aid services where possible.
The Beachmere Lioness Club
The Beachmere Lioness Club is made up of local women of all ages who meet once a month to plan and carry out projects to raise money to put back into the community. Each year they choose a few charities who will benefit from their work, such as the Cancer Foundation; Kuruna Hospice; St Lukes Nursing to name just a few.
The Lioness Club is always looking for new members and welcome any enquiries. Phone Barbara 5496 8434 or Madeleine 5496 2503.
Since the photo was taken - Noela Miller has sadly passed away. She was always a keen supporter and volunteer at Farm Fantastic with a staring role in our Farm Fantastic Commercial for the last three years. Thanks Noela.
Crime Prevention
Crime Prevention covers a multitude of areas from security in the home, security for seniors, motor vehicle security, personal security, property identification to name a few. Education is the key. If you educate persons and they become more aware of say home security they will upgrade their security accordingly – by upgrading security then that may be sufficient to either deter to prevent an offender from breaking into the premises.
Crime prevention is exactly that it is all about preventing incidents occurring instead of having to react to an incident which has occurred.

Most importantly, it is about encouraging interaction and a sense of responsibility between neighbours and communities. NHW is not a police program. Police lend their expertise in organizing and training NHW committee members, and provide a police NHW Liaison Officer to attend meetings when possible.
